With the biological clock ticking and being drawn to new challenges, new atmospheres, new projects, I have also had a new year full of work. The past winter has been busy with a constant flow of orders, and there are just enough to finish now before making my trip to Seattle in June. The wood-lord has blessed the coming summer with four new orders, and the seasonal need to make about 100 Woodtrees by October.
I'm also planning to do a two-person exhibit with an artist from Sado Island in the Fall. This will take much extra work and concentration.
The hope is that this year's work will lead to a new direction for the near future, and a possible exchange or exhibit with a gallery in Finland, and/or in the U.S. This would be a dream come true, a full-circle from my youth in Michigan, to Seattle, to Japan, and around back to a connection with my roots; a wholistic expression of my global ethnicity and experiences.
